Iran international Sardar Azmoun has landed in Italy ahead of his Roma medical, moving from Bayer Leverkusen on loan with option to buy for €13m, to a warm welcome from fans.
The 28-year-old flew from Koln to Rome’s Ciampino Airport in a private jet and was greeted by supporters who immediately sang his name, received autographs and put a Giallorossi scarf around his neck.
He evidently knew the dress code already and landed wearing a bright red shirt, not dissimilar to the Roma kit.
Azmoun had also been linked with Milan and a potential return to Zenit St. Petersburg.
