Repubblica newspaper have released a video they claim shows the moment Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne signs the contract with Toronto FC.
He will be a free agent in July when his current deal with Napoli expires and there were multiple reports today that he agreed the final personal terms to join MLS club Toronto.
Now the video released by the Repubblica newspaper purports to show Insigne at the St Regis hotel in Rome, close to the Termini railway station, accompanied by agent Vincenzo Pisacane, intermediary Andrea D’Amico and his wife Jenny.
The video reportedly covers the moment Insigne signed the contract with Toronto FC, valid from July 1.
It is claimed Insigne will earn €11.5m per season for five years in Major League Soccer, plus up to another €4.5m per season in performance-related bonuses.
He’ll follow in the footsteps of Sebastian Giovinco, who was already a hero at Toronto FC, but will remain at Napoli until the end of the current Serie A campaign.

It’s announced that tfc will unveil insigne on Saturday. Don’t know if he will go in January or once serie A is over. I’m hoping he leaves once serie A is complete.
Maybe making this move because he has insight on National Team not including him on squad, as they never call players from MLS, even if it’s july 1 they will not call him for playoffs and then leave him off for Qatar
From the Canadian media, it sounds like he is expected to finish the season in Napoli, and join Toronto in July.
If the argument that he didn’t sign with Inter out of loyalty to Napoli fans is true, then it also stands to reason that he would give Napoli the respect of finishing his contract and season with them.
They will definitely call him for the World Cup playoffs. They’d be stupid not to.
Agreed. He’s still playing in Italy.
