Paolo Maldini was in the stands to watch Milan youth team player – and his son – Daniel score his debut Serie A goal and couldn’t help beaming with pride.
Daniel received his first Serie A start this afternoon in the 2-1 win away to Spezia.
So when the deadlock was broken by a header from the 19-year-old, Paolo Maldini was celebrating more as a proud Dad than a director of sport.
Those famous blue eyes welled up as he watched Daniel become the third generation of Maldini to score in a Milan jersey.
Paolo’s father Cesare had been both a player – and lifted the European Cup as captain – and then coach for the Rossoneri.
One of Italian football’s most famous names! 🇮🇹
