Milan coach Stefano Pioli has signed a contract extension with the Rossoneri until 2023.

The Serie A leaders are expected to confirm Pioli’s contract extension with an official statement today.

The Italian tactician arrived at Milan’s HQ in the morning to put pen to paper on a new one-year deal with the Serie A giants.

Pioli’s previous deal was due to expire in June 2022. He has now extended until 2023 with an option for a further season.

“We want to be ambitious and build something important after the victory in Madrid,” Pioli told Milan TV.

“I am passionate about football, I study everything and I try to convey my ideas to my footballers.

“I am thrilled to continue a path that has begun more than a year ago and that is giving results on the pitch and for the future,” said Milan director Paolo Maldini.

“Our target is to build a team that can compete with the best every season.

“We know we there will be days tougher than these, but there is empathy and we will manage to solve any potential problem.”
