Stefano Pioli was honoured in front of his squad and coaching staff by Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani and senior advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic after achieving his 100th win in charge of the Rossoneri over the weekend.
Milan defeated Napoli 1-0 at San Siro on Sunday, thanks to a 25th minute strike from the in-form Theo Hernandez.
That was Pioli’s 100th victory in the Rossoneri dugout. It was also his 220th game in charge of Milan, which drew him level with Arrigo Sacchi as the sixth-most experienced manager in the club’s history.
Only Nils Liedholm (280), Fabio Capello (300), Giuseppe Vanni (376), Carlo Ancelotti (420) and Nereo Rocco (459) have overseen more Milan matches than Pioli.
In celebration of Pioli’s recent milestones, the Milan directors gifted him with a personalised shirt, which read ‘Pioli 100’ on the back, in front of the Milan playing and coaching squad at the end of Tuesday’s training session.
