Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini scored a spectacular back-heel goal to give his side the lead in the first half against Hellas Verona.

The 25-year-old cut inside, pouncing on a low Rick Karsdorp cross at the near post, scoring one of the best goals of the season.

Thanks to Pellegrini’s strike, Roma lead 1-0 at halftime against Igor Tudor’s Hellas Verona.

The Italy international sees his contract expire at the end of the season, but Roma hope to tie him down to a new deal soon.

Pellegrini was linked with a move to Tottenham in the summer and Roma are willing to remove a €30m release clause from his contract, should the 25-year-old sign a new deal with the club.

The former Sassuolo man has already scored six goals in seven appearances across all competitions so far this season.
