Simone Pafundi was again the star of the show for the Italy Under-19 squad in a 2-1 qualifying win over Czechia.

The former Udinese creative midfielder opened the scoring after 18 minutes from the edge of the box, then his corner was turned in by Luca Lipani to double their lead.

Stepan Misek pulled one back with a scorcher from distance to make it a tense final 20 minutes in Udine.

Goalkeeper Renato Marin had to make several big saves in the closing stages of the match.

This result leaves the Azzurri top of the European Championship qualifying group with six points from two games, ahead of Czechia and Georgia on three apiece.

Scotland are last following two defeats.
