Napoli shared a video on social media after their defender Juan Jesus accused Inter and Italy centre-back Francesco Acerbi of racism.

Napoli used the hashtag #KeepRacismOut on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday after Juan Jesus accused Acerbi of making racist remarks during Sunday’s Serie A match between Inter and Napoli at San Siro.

Napoli reacted with a video featuring some of their stars, including Victor Osimhen and Alex Meret, saying ‘out and loud, no to racism.’

What happened between Juan Jesus and Acerbi

Juan Jesus reported Acerbi’s alleged racist remarks to referee Federico La Penna during Sunday’s match but said he had forgiven the Italian defender after the final whistle.

The incident happened on the weekend when all the Serie A coaches and players had ‘Keep Racism Out’ stickers.

During a meeting with Italy coach Luciano Spalletti and Azzurri players on Monday, Acerbi denied having ‘defamatory, disparaging or racist intent’ but was still sent home and replaced by Roma defender Gianluca Mancini.

Inter also released an official statement saying that they’ll speak to their player ‘as soon as possible’ to ‘clarify the dynamics of what happened.’
