Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti confessed his staff had stolen a free kick routine from Borussia Dortmund and the video of them side-by-side shows just how precisely it was copied.
This proved to be the winner at the Stadio Franchi when they beat Fiorentina 2-1 on Sunday evening.
Piotr Zielinski pretended to run away from the free kick, leaving only right-footed Lorenzo Insigne.
However, he bent the run back again to take it quickly with his left foot, onto the head of Amir Rrahmani.
“Borussia Dortmund did something similar and our match analyst showed it to us, it’s a pretty easy technique to use,” Spalletti told DAZN.
“It can be done with a right-footed player on the other side, too.”
