The city of Naples exploded in celebration of Inter‘s victory over Lazio, which could hand Luciano Spalletti’s side the Serie A title if they beat Salernitana at the Maradona on Sunday afternoon.
Footage from across the city have been cropping up on social media, particularly the celebrations after Robin Gosens and Lautaro Martinez put Inter 2-1 and 3-1 up against Lazio respectively.
The cheering and chanting could be heard from all over the city as Gosens put in an acrobatic effort to put the Nerazzuri ahead in Milan. A goal that came with great sacrifice, as the German international looked to have dislocated his shoulder in the process.
Still, Napoli will be grateful for Gosens’ effort, as his strike meant that Lazio then needed two goals within the final 10 minutes to prevent Napoli from being crowned champions this weekend.
Martinez then gave Inter – and Napoli – even more breathing room on the stroke of 90 minutes as he put the game out of reach for Maurizio Sarri’s side in Milan.
