Valencia boss Gennaro Gattuso surprised a Spanish journalist during a post-match press conference on Saturday, saying: ‘Call me Mister or Rino.’
The former Milan and Napoli coach met the media following a 2-1 win over Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta on Saturday and, after revealing that his side can’t afford Juventus midfielder Arthur, joked with a journalist who had called him ‘Señor Gattuso’ which translates into ‘Mister’ or ‘Lord.’
‘Call me Mister or Rino, the Lord is in the Sky,’ Gattuso said with a smile.
Mister is commonly used in Italy to refer to football coaches, while Rino is Gattuso’s most famous nickname.
The Italian tactician has been appointed by Valencia this summer, signing a three-year deal at the Estadio Mestalla.
