Milan striker Luka Romero was stretchered off with a protective neck collar while playing for Almeria this evening, as he was kicked in the face by a teammate.

The accident occurred against Celta Vigo when he stumbled and slipped just as his teammate was sliding in to make a tackle and caught him full-on in the face with a raised boot.

Medics applied a protective collar to his neck, fearing whiplash, and stretchered him off for further tests and treatment.

The 19-year-old joined Almeria on loan in January and scored two goals in the 2-2 draw with Atletico Madrid.

It remains to be seen whether Romero will return to base at the end of the season or if Milan will loan him out again.
