Roma defender Gianluca Mancini revealed Bryan Cristante had told the defender to play the ball back before setting up Nicolo Zaniolo for the winning goal in the Europa Conference League Final.

Mancini ended up providing an assist with a cross which Zaniolo chested down and poked him for the only goal.

And, speaking to Sky Sport after the match, he said: “He [Cristane] said to me: ‘Stay calm’. Turn, turn.

“For the goal, he says ‘Tuuuuuuuuurn’. As soon as I saw Zaniolo… I said to him: ‘Yeah, turn’.

  1. @ROMAntic I thought that was odd too. I’m wondering why the angst when the team just won a trophy? Eh, the ego can’t overshadow the trophy. It’s good for Roma, and hopefully they do just as well in the Europa league next year.

From what I know, Bryan & Gianluca are very good friends, so they bicker like TWO BROTHERS.

Cristante probably teased him with something banal like: “Just don’t get too excited, we are not alone!”
& Mancini errupted: “I told you TO STOP MAKING JOKES LIKE THAT!”

They are good friends & speak frankly with each other. I’m sure Bryan knew he deserved that punch, he even smiled. Anyway, they accepted the medals together. All is well.
