Mike Maignan’s return to the pitch is getting closer and the Milan goalkeeper has posted a video where he shows that a Luis Suarez foul caused his injury.

In October, the French goalkeeper underwent wrist surgery and is expected to return to action at the beginning of January.

How Maignan was injured saving Salah’s Liverpool penalty

According to reports in Italy, his injury was caused by a save on Mohamed Salah during Milan’s Champions League clash against Liverpool a couple of weeks before his surgery.

However, the former Lille goalkeeper has shown that the Reds’ star did not cause his injury.

Maignan posted a video on social media suggesting that he is close to returning to action and showing his best saves of the season, including the one on Salah.

It also shows a Luis Suarez foul during Milan-Atletico Madrid, after which the ‘young Maignan’ screams, beginning his recovery program.

The 26-year-old joined Milan in a €15m deal from Lille in the summer signing a contract until 2026. He has kept three clean sheets in nine appearances with the Rossoneri this season.
