Romelu Lukaku failed to convert a penalty for the first time in his Serie A career after 14 successful attempts between Inter and Roma.

The Belgium international stepped up when Paulo Dybala’s shot struck Federico Baschirotto’s fingertips in the opening minute at the Stadio Olimpico.

However, his effort was low and central, enough for Lecce goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone to parry with his legs.

It is the first penalty Lukaku has failed to convert at club level since August 2017, when Manchester United were still able to beat Leicester City 2-0.
