RC Lens have launched a series of digs at Napoli for their pursuit of centre-back Kevin Danso in the video announcing the player’s contract extension published on Thursday afternoon.

Napoli had been interested in making a move to sign the 24-year-old defender in an attempt to replace Kim Min-jae, who joined Bayern Munich in a big-money move earlier in July.

That search is still ongoing, although Kim’s heir certainly will not be Danso, as he has now agreed to sign a new deal with Lens running until the summer of 2027.

Napoli were not mentioned by name in Lens’ video, however, it is clear that they are the intended target of the jokes.

From ‘Ciao Kevin’, the background images of pizza and pasta, to the animation of the boot of Italy kicking the phone back in France’s direction, the Italian references are rife in this clip.

  1. I mean, okay. You’re still Lens, a second tier club in a second tier league that only qualified for the Champion’s League 3 times.

Napoli are the Champions of Italy who lit up the CL last season and qualify nearly every year. Danso won’t save you from a first round exit lol.

  2. Wow, what a sad, disrespectful, distasteful and arrogant announcement fot a team that had one good season the past century. I hope they draw Napoli in the Champions League and get destroyed.
