Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic got his first start in the World Cup and immediately got a goal for Serbia against Switzerland.

The former Fiorentina centre-forward has struggled with a recurring groin inflammation over the last couple of months, which saw him miss several games for Juve and Serbia.

He was only able to come off the bench for the opening group games in Qatar, but finally got his start against Switzerland.

Vlahovic immediately proved what he can do by sealing the comeback from a Xherdan Shaqiri goal, as Aleksandar Mitrovic had nodded in an equaliser.

The 22-year-old pounced on a defensive error and scored from an extremely tricky angle, as it seemed at best a half-chance, but he turned it into gold.

It was Vlahovic’s 10th goal in just 19 senior caps for his country.

He also had a rather curious celebration, grabbing his shorts.

Serbia need to beat Switzerland in order to qualify for the Round of 16 alongside Brazil.
