Inter could not pass up on the opportunity to cook up some pancakes with maple syrup when announcing the signing of Canada international Tajon Buchanan on Friday afternoon.

The Canadian speciality was a recurring-theme on the day of Buchanan’s signing, as Inter had also hinted at his announcement with a series of emoji’s earlier in the day.

Buchanan joins Inter on a permanent transfer from Club Brugge in a deal that is estimated to have cost the Nerazzurri in the region of €10m including bonuses. The 24-year-old has signed off on a four-and-a-half year contract.

He is the club’s first Canadian representative and will almost certainly become the first Canada international to take to the field in Serie A.

“Can’t wait to share good times together,” were Buchanan’s words before tucking into his sweet treat.
