There were emotional scenes at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, when Josip Ilicic said goodbye to the Atalanta fans.
The Slovenia international terminated his contract by mutual consent this week, realising his time at the club is over, having barely played over the last two years due to mental health issues.
Ilicic was given a standing ovation from teammates and fans ahead of the Serie A match against Torino, walking all around the pitch to salute the crowd.
The 34-year-old had been in Bergamo since 2017, making 173 competitive appearances for the club with 60 goals and 44 assists.
