Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a bit of an awkward reunion with his former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola when Milan played Manchester City.
The pair famously clashed at Camp Nou 14 years ago, as confirmed by the Sweden international’s autobiography ‘I Am Zlatan’ in 2013, where he covered their very conflicting views on tactics and personality in the tumultuous 2009-10 campaign, referring to the coach as a “spineless coward.”
They crossed paths at Yankee Stadium after Milan’s 3-2 pre-season friendly victory over Manchester City and shared a frankly awkward hug.
Ibra seemed to recognise the nature of the moment with a caption when posting the clip on Instagram: “Just a friendly game.”
It was fairly evident from the body language that the Rossoneri legend was being civil, while Guardiola seemed to walk away immediately after asking what he was up to.
