Germany veteran Mats Hummels is on his way over to Italy, ready to sign a one-year contract with Daniele De Rossi’s Roma.
Footage shared by Sky DE reporter Florian Plettenberg showed the 35-year-old checking in at Munich international airport on Wednesday morning, before making his way over to his flight heading for Rome.
He is expected to have his medical with the Gialloriss in the capital later on Wednesday.

Hummels is expected to sign a one-year contract at the Stadio Olimpico, possibly with an option to extend for a further 12 months, which will earn him a reported €2.5m for the remained of the 2024-25 campaign.
He joins Mario Hermoso, who also joined Roma as a free agent this week. They are set to replace Chris Smalling, who left the club after five years to join Al-Fayha of the Saudi Pro League in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Roma are also reportedly planning a move to bring cult hero Kostas Manolas back to the club following the expiry of his short-term deal with Salernitana at the end of June.
What a huge downgrade from Dortmund & Munchen to Roma.
