Inter supporters watching the Champions League final at San Siro were left heartbroken after the Nerazzurri fell to a 1-0 defeat against Manchester City in Istanbul on Saturday night.

The club decided to stage a viewing party for roughly 50,000 supporters who were unable to travel to Turkey for the final, which sold out within seven hours of tickets going on sale.

A temporary big screen, spanning 400 square metres was erected in the Primo Anello Arancio section of the iconic Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, with tens of thousands of fans watching on from the opposite stand, with some even able to watch from pitch level.

The fairytale, however, was not to be, as Pep Guardiola’s side edged out Simon Inaghi’s men thanks to Rodri’s strike after 68 minutes.

The supporters at San Siro, as to be expected, were bitterly disappointed with the outcome of the game, particularly after such a promising showing from their side in the opening hour or so of the game.

Inter have since insisted that everybody should ‘look up and be proud’ of their team after an impressive campaign in the competition over the course of the 2022-23 season.
