Atletico Madrid forward and France international Antoine Griezmann was delighted to say the least when Alexis Sanchez missed his penalty in the shoot-out during Inter’s loss to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League round of 16 on Wednesday night.
The Nerazzurri crashed out of Europe’s premier competition after Sanchez, Davy Klaasen and Lautaro Martinez failed to convert their spot kicks. The aggregate scores had been level at 2-2 at the end of extra time.
After Sanchez’s saved kick, cameras inside the Metropolitano cut to Griezmann, who had been subbed off for the second half of injury time.
“Sh**, he’s a sh**bag the Chilean, a sh**bag!,” Griezmann is believed to have said to one of his teammates.
