Florent Ghisolfi will be the new director of sport at Roma next season, confirmed his current employers OGC Nice.
The announcement was made in a video interview by Nice President Jean-Pierre Rivere following the final game of the Ligue 1 season on Sunday evening.
“Florent Ghisolfi is leaving us for Roma and we are happy for him,” said Rivere.
“We had some good months together, he is a good person and we appreciate that very much. We wish him all the best. It is all done, he asked to leave and we accepted.”
It had been reported for a few weeks that Ghisolfi had won the race to take over the role at the Stadio Olimpico for the 2024-25 campaign.
The position had been effectively vacant since Tiago Pinto resigned at the end of the January transfer window.
The 39-year-old is handing in his resignation at Nice, therefore avoiding the need for Roma to buy him out of his current contract.
