Former Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi gave a nod to Chelsea and England starlet Cole Palmer by copying his celebration during Lazio’s 2-0 victory over Torino on Thursday night.
Guendouzi, who moved to Lazio on loan from Marseille with an option to buy for €15m plus add-ons this summer, notched the first of two goals for the Biancocelesti on Thursday night.
His effort was followed up by Danilo Cataldi just six minutes later.
Guendouzi celebrated by copying Palmer’s go-to celebration, rubbing his arms as if to warm himself up, hinting that the finish was ‘cold’.
Lazio were able to hold on for a 2-0 victory, despite being reduced to 10 men when Mario Gila was given his marching orders on the 79th minute.
Thursday’s victory bumps Lazio back up into seventh in the Serie A standings, and now have a four-point advantage over opponents Torino, who are still in 10th after Thursday’s results.
