Inter and Italy wing-back Federico Dimarco has been awarded the goal of the round award for his stunning equaliser in Friday evening’s 3-1 victory over France at the Parc des Princes.
UEFA have selected Dimarco’s goal as the best from the first round of 2024-25 Nations League fixtures played out over the weekend.
Dimarco received the ball on the switch from Andrea Cambiaso, linked up with Sandro Tonali for a wonderful exchange of one-touch passes and flicks, before firing a thunderous volley off his left foot and into the top corner past Mike Maignan.

The goal was a real turning point for Italy, who had fallen behind after just 14 seconds following a slip from Napoli’s Giovanni Di Lorenzo.
From there, though, the Azzurri went on to put on an impressive performance against Didier Deschamps’s men, eventually scoring twice more through Davide Frattesi and Giacomo Raspadori.
The Nazionale have since picked up another win against Israel, and now sit at the top of their Nations League group, three points ahead of both France and Belgium.
He’s underrated…
