Federico Chiesa came off in the first half of Juventus’ win over Roma tonight and he may have suffered a serious knee injury.

The 24-year-old Italian winger fell to the ground in the 31st minute of the match after turning away from Ainsley Maitland-Niles. He appeared to be in great pain and was helped off the pitch as he made way for Dejan Kulusevski.

Sports scientist Dr. Rajpal Brar highlighted that the injury to Chiesa could be extremely serious.

He posted a video showing the moment the Italian suffered the injury, saying: “Can see left knee ripple as he’s turning with knee dropping inwards. Potentially indicates an ACL rupture especially within context of other reports that he has a knee ligament sprain. Awaiting examination & imaging results.”

  1. @Brandon, walking off is no indicator the ACL isn’t done as you can walk perfectly fine after the initial impact and tear on the pitch. When I did mine I was trying to run it off so I could come back on as I didn’t know the severity of what I had done. Chiesa will know if he has done his ACL because it makes a sound like a leg break when it goes.

  2. OK, thanks.

Obviously only those in his immediate vicinity would have heard it.

Got a bad vibe about this one.

Was todays injury the same knee that he recently returned from injury? Anybody know?

  3. I fear the worse having done the same , it’s looking like we are doomed to not go to the World Cup ! Let’s hope it’s a sprain

  4. On the plus, Marco Verratti returned today for PSG. I know he’s back to normal because he gor himself Booked.

Any Romanisti got the latest on Spina’s return?
