A brawl involving LAFC and Tigres players started last night after Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini kicked the ball at an opponent.
The incident happened during a Campeones Cup game between reigning MLS and LIGA MX Champions on Wednesday night.
A video that has gone viral on social media shows Chiellini pushing away an opponent who stood in his way, preventing him from taking a free kick. The former Juventus defender complained to the referee and then kicked the ball at the Tigres player, prompting his teammates to react.
The referee did not book anyone involved in the brawl, while Chiellini’s LAFC lost on penalties after a 0-0 draw.
