Hakan Calhanoglu has returned to Milan where he will undergo his medicals with Inter.

The Turkish playmaker has agreed to sign a three-year, €5m-a-year deal and will join the Nerazzurri as a free agent.

According to reports in Italy, the agreement comes with add-ons in the region of €1m per season.

Calhanoglu had joined Milan in 2017 and the Rossoneri offered the 27-year-old a new €4m-a-year deal to extend his stay at the club.

Eriksen released from hospital after ICD operation

Calhanoglu rejected Milan’s offer and opted to join the Nerazzurri instead.

He is expected to replace Christian Eriksen, whose career in Serie A appears in doubt after having had a heart defibrillator implanted.

Calhanoglu arrived at Milan’s Linate airport on Monday evening and will undergo his medicals with Inter on Tuesday morning.
