Italy World Cup winner, Juventus, Parma and PSG hero Gigi Buffon has returned to EA Sports FC 25 as an ICON.
The now retired goalkeeper received the UEFA Presidents’ Award from Aleksander Ceferin before participating in the draw for the new, expanded Champions League 2024/25 season last week.
He joked that if he had known there would be such an outpouring of love and appreciation, he might’ve retired earlier than last year.
SuperGigi is widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time and is back as a new ICON in the EA Sports FC 25 video game.
The Italian is also represented on the cover along with Zinedine Zidane – who he beat in that 2006 World Cup Final – and David Beckham, amongst others.
He amassed 176 caps for Italy and won the 2006 World Cup, 10 Serie A titles, one Ligue 1 championship, six editions of the Coppa Italia, seven of the Supercoppa Italiana, the French Super Cup and one Serie B League title.
