Legendary former Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has given his approval to the club’s latest acquisition, Michele Di Gregorio, who officially joined the Old Lady on loan with an option to buy from Monza on Friday.

Buffon approves Di Gregorio signing

“Yes, I like Di Gregorio,” Buffon said in a video with ilBicnaoncero.

“I think that he’s had two amazing seasons and he’s absolutely confirmed over those two years that he’s one of the best goalkeepers around.”

Juventus have paid a fee of €4.5m to bring Di Gregorio in on loan for the 2024-25 campaign, and will have to pay a further €13.5m across three instalments, plus €800,000 in add-ons in order to make the move permanent.

Juve’s option to sign the player will become a mandatory obligation if certain conditions are met during the 2024-25 season.
