Mario Balotelli produced a backheel assist yesterday, but Adana Demirspor’s goal was disallowed and the Italian striker hit out at the referee on social media.
Balotelli and Vincenzo Montella’s side lost 3-2 at home against Sivasspor yesterday, with the Italy forward scoring one from the spot. Adana were 1-0 down when a Balotelli backheel assist led to the equaliser which, however, was disallowed for offside.
The ex Inter and Milan striker posted the video on his Instagram account with a polemic caption: ‘Meantime they continue to disallow my goals and assists,’ he wrote in Italian, adding: ‘very nice and clean system there is here.’
Balotelli returned to the Italian national team at the end of January for a get-together at Coverciano. He hopes to be called up for the World Cup play-offs in March. The former Liverpool and City striker played his last game with La Nazionale in 2018.
