Arsenal defender Pablo Marí has arrived in Italy to undergo a medical with Monza, completing the loan move with obligation to buy for €5m tied to Serie A safety.

The deal is similar to many others than Monza have struck in their first ever top flight campaign, meaning the purchase will be obligatory at the end of the season if they manage to avoid relegation.

Pablo Marí landed in Monza this afternoon via private jet and will have his medical today before signing the contract.

The Spaniard had also been in Serie A last season on loan with Udinese, where he scored two goals in 15 appearances.

He will turn 29 later this month.
