Former Inter and Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal urges his compatriot Alexis Sanchez to leave the Nerazzurri: ‘The coach doesn’t want him.’

Alexis returned to the Stadio Meazza on a free transfer last summer, signing a contract until the end of the season, but has only played 473 minutes across all competitions this term, scoring two goals in the Champions League.

Therefore, Vidal, a former Inter teammate of Sanchez, urged his compatriot to leave the Stadio Meazza in January.

“Alexis, if you are listening to me, please go away from Inter!” Vidal on his Twitch channel, as quoted by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“It was an error to return to Inter. I told him last summer. He should have joined a club where he would have fun and where fans would love him, but he is stubborn.”

Vidal, a five-time Serie A winner, continued: “Lautaro is a good striker, but how can’t Sanchez play at Inter? Mkhitaryan plays and Alexis doesn’t. Really, I want to kill myself when I think about it. It makes me upset because Alexis is too strong. I would rather see him at River Plate than Inter. He is only happy if he plays, and he is not happy like this. His Inter teammates are not better than him, but the coach does not want him. Otherwise, how can he be introduced with just nine minutes remaining?”

Vidal scored 37 goals in 175 Serie A matches for Juventus and Inter. He spent two seasons at Inter between 2020 and 2022 winning a Scudetto with the Nerazzurri.

He won four of his five Serie A titles under Antonio Conte, three times at Juventus and once at Inter. His contract with Club Athletico Paranaense expired on January 1, 2024, so Vidal is currently without a club.
