Reports in Italy suggest Juventus could sell Arturo Vidal to bring in Juan Mata, Xherdan Shaqiri or Marco Verratti.

The rumours are increasing that Juve no longer consider Chile international Vidal to be untouchable and could release him in January for as little as €35m.

While Manchester United have been chasing Vidal for some time, the Corriere dello Sport maintains Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund are also in the running.

The front page of Tuttosport today insists Manchester United benchwarmer Mata is the prime candidate to replace Vidal, especially as he could be included in a straight swap.

However, other options include Bayern Munich’s Swiss international Shaqiri and PSG talent Verratti.

It would be a revival of interest in Verratti, who had been on the verge of joining Juventus before he chose Paris Saint-Germain.

He has impressed in the Champions League and is increasingly seen as the future of the Italy midfield, so could learn directly from Andrea Pirlo in Turin.

Verratti has recently renewed his contract with PSG, so any deal would not come cheap.
