The Chilean is now only a medical away from signing for Juventus after Bayer accepted a €10.5m offer on Wednesday.
"I'm enthusiastic about this new opportunity that has been handed to me," he said in Santiago as he prepared to board a flight for Italy.
"Juventus are a club who are being reconstructed with the objective of winning the League and qualifying for Europe.
"I'm happy, this is a great step for me, this is the most important move of my career which will allow me to play for one of the greatest clubs in Europe."
The 24-year-old joined Bayer Leverkusen in 2007 after a season with Colo Colo in his homeland.
"My experience in Germany will be very useful for me because it is a championship that is tactically similar to that in Italy," he added.
Vidal was also linked with moves to Napoli and Bayern Munich this summer.
