Arturo Vidal fuelled speculation of a move to Napoli for a reunion with Carlo Ancelotti after flying to Italy. “Going home.”
Former Bayern Munich Coach Ancelotti formally signed a three-year contract with the Partenopei this evening, replacing Maurizio Sarri.
It had already been rumoured last night in the Corriere dello Sport and German paper Kicker that Vidal could return to Serie A to work with Ancelotti again.
This evening, Vidal posted an image on his social media account of him and his family and friends standing in front of a plane.
“Going home with the gang! It’s always nice to go back to Italy.”
The Chile international turned 31 yesterday and his contract with the Germans runs until June 2019, but Kicker reports that Bayern will let him decide his own future.
Vidal spent four years at Juventus before he was sold to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2015 for €37.5m.
