Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal scored a brace in Chile’s 2-0 victory against Peru, on the day Gianluca Lapadula made his debut.
Vidal was the undoubted star of the show in last night’s 2022 World Cup qualifier in Santiago de Chile.
He opened the scoring with an absolute screamer from a good 30 metres out into the far top corner, which left the goalkeeper rooted to the spot.
Vidal then added a second just before half-time.

His Inter teammate Alexis Sanchez, the subject of a bitter back and forth between Chile coach Reinaldo Rueda and the club, came on for the final six minutes.
They weren’t the only Serie A players on the pitch, as Benevento striker Lapadula was making his international debut for Peru.
He was born and raised in Italy, to an Italian father and Peruvian mother, so after several years of interest has now chosen to represent Peru at international level.
