Marco Verratti posted a touching message to Juventus target Angel Di Maria following his last match for Paris Saint-Germain.
The Argentina international’s contract at the Parc des Princes expires on June 30 when he will leave the French champions and is expected to join Juve.
Saturday’s 5-0 win over Metz brought their Ligue 1 campaign to an end and therefore marked Di Maria’s final match with the club.
Verratti posted on Instagram: “Seven years admiring all your talent on the pitch. I am happy to have shared special moments with you that will stay forever in my heart.
“I love you, my friend. I will miss you a lot. I wish all the best to you and to your wonderful family for your next adventure. I will be your biggest fan. THANK YOU, @angeldimariajm.”
Di Maria joined PSG following a disappointing season at Manchester United in 2015 and has won Ligue 1 five times, the French Cup five times and the French League Cup on four occasions.
He also helped the club reach their first-ever Champions League final in 2020, where they were beaten by Bayern Munich.
Di Maria recently said he would like to stay in Europe if PSG don’t renew his contract and Football Italia sources revealed on May 17 that he has agreed a one-year contract at Juve with the option of a further 12 months and a salary of €7 million net per year.
