Pescara have reiterated their decision to take Italian Under-21 international Marco Verratti off the transfer market.

The midfielder was of interest to a host of clubs, notably Italian champions Juventus and Coppa Italia winners Napoli.

However, the newly promoted outfit decided at the weekend to break off all negotiations for the 19-year-old.

“I can confirm that he is no longer on the market,” sporting director Daniele Delli Carri told Sport Italia. “We don’t want to talk about him with any clubs.”

Pescara value the teenager at around €10m, a figure that few clubs were willing to meet – especially given the player’s request to remain on loan at his hometown team for 2012-13.
