Marco Verratti thinks Paris Saint-Germain, Napoli and Liverpool “will fight it out to the very end” for Champions League qualification.

Angel Di Maria snatched a stoppage-time 2-2 draw at Parc des Princes this evening, while Liverpool thumped Red Star Belgrade 4-0.

“With this goal at the end, we got a great boost for the second leg. I think this group will be open to the very end. It’s exciting with great teams fighting it out,” Verratti told Sky Sport Italia.

Lorenzo Insigne scored the opener with a delightful lob and it was a reunion for Verratti, as they are not only Italy teammates, but also played together for Pescara in Serie B.

“I basically grew up as a footballer alongside Lorenzo, so to see him here in such an important game and scoring a great goal too, it’s pleasing.”
