Marco Verratti and Lorenzo Pellegrini are reportedly leaving the Italy national team camp as they are not 100% fit and would have not been available against Lithuania.
The Azzurri picked up two draws against Bulgaria and Switzerland and are set to face Lithuania in the last game of the September international break on Wednesday.
However, both Verratti and Pellegrini won’t be available for the next game as, according to Tuttomercatoweb, they are leaving the Italy national team camp due to physical issues.
The two midfielders are not 100% fit, so they are returning to their clubs. Verratti started against Bulgaria on Thursday and came off the bench against the Swiss last night.
Pellegrini was subbed on for the final minutes of the game against Bulgaria but was an unused substitute in Basel last night.
The Azzurri are the Group C leaders with 11 points in five games, but Switzerland sit second with seven points and two games in hand.
