Adrien Rabiot’s mother-agent Veronique has hit back at reports that a new contract had been agreed with Juventus, noting that her son ‘hasn’t made any decision’ regarding a possible deal.

The 28-year-old Frenchman was only days away from leaving the Old Lady on a free transfer last summer before he signed a one-year contract renewal, extending his stay by another season.

Rabiot, who is one of the highest earners in the Juventus squad with a salary of €7m net per season, has grown into a key figure in Massimiliano Allegri’s squad, playing every available minute this term bar his one-match suspension.

Speaking to ANSA via Calciomercato.com, Veronique Rabiot responded to recent reports that Rabiot had agreed to sign another one-year contract renewal with Juventus.

“I totally deny the news that appeared in the sports press on Thursday regarding the renewal of Adrien’s contract with Juventus.

“Adrien has not made any decision on his future, he is focused exclusively on the pitch and on this season, and at the moment there are no discussions with any club about Adrien’s future.

“Although on Thursday morning I was angry when I discovered the news on the front page and an article, which is nothing more than a total journalistic invention, I chose to respond only today to let the weekend pass and not interfere with Adrien’s game.”

When asked about his plans for the future last month, the Juventus midfielder made it clear that negotiations were not ongoing, simply stating that ‘we’ll talk about it later’. This campaign, he’s scored two goals and provided three assists across 14 matches.
