It is reported that Verona Coach Fabio Pecchia’s job is under threat ahead of the club’s home match with Cagliari.
The Scaligeri are second-bottom of Serie A and are five points off safety with eight matches of their season remaining.
The Stadio Bentegodi side have lost their last three League matches by a combined score of 11-0, including a 3-0 hammering in midweek by a Benevento team well adrift at the bottom of the table.

With their top-flight status hanging in the balance, Corriere di Verona reports that Pecchia could be sacked if Hellas fail to arrest their worrying run of form against Cagliari today.
It is not the first time Rafa Benitez’s former Real Madrid assistant has been under pressure this campaign.
After a dire 3-0 home defeat to Crotone in January, the Verona board held talks over the tactician’s future but ultimately decided to give Pecchia the opportunity to redeem himself.
The Scaligeri subsequently secured an impressive 4-1 win at Fiorentina to take some of the heat off their Coach, but two months on it now appears to have returned.
Another factor against Pecchia is said to be the recent resignation of sporting director Filippo Fusco.
According to Corriere di Verona, Fusco was one of the key men behind the decision to grant Pecchia a reprive following the Crotone defeat.
With him gone, a fourth straight Serie A loss this afternoon could spell the end of Pecchia’s near two-year tenure at the Bentegodi.
