Maurizio Sarri’s side take on their bogey team on Monday with these Verona vs. Lazio predictions. The Biancocelesti have won just two of the last five against the Gialloblu but are in fine form ahead of the weekend clash.

Verona vs. Lazio odds

1 – Ciro Immobile to score first – 29/20

2 – Lazio to win – 21/20

3 – Lazio to score first – 3/4

4 – Under 2.5 goals scored – 5/6

5 – A draw at full-time – 13/5

Lazio travel north to face Verona on Monday evening hoping to continue their unbeaten Serie A form. Maurizio Sarri’s side have not lost since the first game back after the World Cup break and would jump to second place in the league table with a win this weekend.

The Aquile have even more reason to be confident ahead of Monday’s game, as they are expected to welcome back their captain and record goalscorer Ciro Immobile. It has to be said, Lazio did not do poorly in his absence, winning two out of three games including a 4-0 thrashing of Scudetto holders Milan.

Even so, Immobile is Sarri’s only natural striker and is our tip to score anytime at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi. Having struggled to score against Fiorentina last weekend, Immobile’s return should inspire the visitors to a win on Monday.

With their attacking force back to its best, it would come as no surprise to see Lazio continue their remarkable recent record of scoring early goals. The Aquile have scored within the opening ten minutes in three of their last five games, and in the first half in the others. A wager on the visitors to score first this weekend should likely pay off.

At the same time, it would be unwise to write off the host’s defensive prowess. Verona have turned their season round since the Serie A restart, losing just once. In the last five games the Gialloblu have conceded just three times – and never more than once in a game.

Despite Lazio’s attacking form, a wager on under 2.5 goals scored at the Bentegodi could provide a return. Should the hosts succeed in keeping the likes of Immobile quiet, there is no reason that Verona cannot extend their fine form against the Aquile and secure a valuable point in the battle for Serie A survival.
