Atalanta striker Sam Lammers had been on the verge of a move to Genoa, but now Hellas Verona are ready to leap in front.
The 24-year-old was signed from PSV Eindhoven in September 2020 for €7m, but made just 17 competitive appearances last season, for a total 296 minutes of football.
Nonetheless, the Dutchman still managed to score two goals.
Genoa were seemingly on the verge of making the transfer on loan, with newly-promoted Salernitana also interested.
However, Sportitalia report that Hellas Verona are now preparing to intercept, making the most of their good rapport with Atalanta.
In order to make the move, Verona need to first find Samuel Di Carmine a new club and he seems close to Serie B outfit Reggina.
