Hellas Verona striker Kevin Lasagna had to go under the knife today after he was diagnosed with a knee injury.

The forward was in pre-season training when doctors identified a lesion to the fibrocartilage in the internal meniscus of the left knee.

Lasagna posted an image of himself in the hospital bed this afternoon, having undergone the surgery.

According to reports, the former Udinese centre-forward is expected to be out of action for over a month.

He turns 29 next month and is technically on loan from Udinese until June 2022, but the option to buy for €6.5m can become an obligation if certain conditions are met.
