Hellas Verona are targeting Vincenzo Italiano to replace Torino-bound Ivan Juric, but Spezia aren’t prepared to let him go.
Multiple sources are confident Juric has struck a deal with Torino following an increasingly tense rapport with the club hierarchy.
Now Verona need to find a replacement and Sky Sport Italia claim their first choice is Italiano.
He just took Spezia to their first ever Serie A campaign and then kept them in the top flight with a round to spare.
It would be a return to the Stadio Bentegodi for Italiano, who was a midfielder and even the captain of Verona in his playing days.
However, he has a €1m release clause on his Spezia contract and Verona are not prepared to pay that.
Other candidates mentioned include Giovanni Stroppa, who is in advanced negotiations with Monza.
