Hellas Verona fumbled a lead late on and lost 2-1 away to Hamburger SV with Bosko Jankovic on target.

The Serie A side were without Juanito Gomez Taleb and Emil Hallfredsson, but gave Michelangelo Albertazzi his debut after arriving from Milan.

Verona went in front after 36 minutes thanks to Jankovic smashing a right-foot strike and thought they’d made it 2-0 moments later, but Giampaolo Pazzini was flagged offside.

Ivica Olic got the hosts back on level terms from a Holtby assist and could’ve had a second after Eros Pisano’s error.
