Verona have confirmed that they are close to a triple swoop of Torino’s Lucas Boye, Bologna’s Bruno Petkovic and Udinese’s Ryder Matos.
Speaking to Sportitalia about Verona’s January deals, sporting director Filippo Fusco explained Boye had the ‘characteristics’ to help the Rossoblu, while the arrivals of fellow forwards Petkovic and Matos were being ‘finalised’.
“Boye is a player that we’re following,” he told Sportitalia.
“He has characteristics that can help Verona, while Verona can give him more minutes than Torino.
“The Granata will decide what the best strategy is to maximise his talent. We’re also trying to finalise deals for [Bruno] Petkovic and [Ryder] Matos, so I’m happy.
“As for [Marco] D’Alessandro, the situation is more complicated. Bessa? He didn’t ask for a transfer.
“For us, he’s an important player. He’s been one since he arrived and we’ve given him the best conditions to express his talent.
“If we receive any offers, we’ll evaluate them, but we don’t intend to sell him. He’s been excellent in these two years, and he’s an asset that’s been recovered for Italian football.
“Pazzini? He was a real leading light last year. He’s scored more than 100 goals in his Serie A career.
“He’s an extraordinary goalscorer and his goals have been valuable. He’s important for us, and if offers arrive, we’ll take them into consideration.
“This applies to him, as well as our other players. If not, I’m sure he’ll contribute to us staying up.”
